PARA O SETOR PRODUTIVO

Transfer of Knowledge ande Scientific Technological inovations generated for the public

In the context of this project, productive sector is defined as the entire network of clinics and hospitals, public and private, which serve the health problems of the population, either through the SUS (Unified Health System) or through private health plans. This is the sector that requires new technology and for whom computational systems developed during the project will be transferred. As can be seen from Section 5, one of the features that makes the INCT-MACC unique is the specific commitment to develop computational systems for various medical applications. In particular, the transfer of computing systems described in Section 5.1.10 is expected during the period 2015-2021. As has already happened with systems developed during the previous period, these systems will be accessible through the INCT- MACC website (http://macc.lncc.br/sistema.php) where, and when necessary, tutorials for the correct and efficient use of these systems will also be made available.

In addition, technology transfer for the productive sector, especially high technology hospital medical equipment will also benefit from the results reached in the context of the present project.
In this sense, since 2007, the InCor has been authorized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCTI) to execute R&D activities according to the Informatics Law (in Portuguese, “Lei de Informática”). Such credentialing allowed the development of Informatics solutions for Medicine and the subsequent transfer to active companies in the sector. Recently, the Agreement with Toshiba Medical enterprise from Brazil, yet within the context of the Informatics Law, aims at the development of new medical image processing methods and techniques that, eventually, can be introduced as novel technological advances in concrete products.
Like all activities for the transfer of computer systems (software), its use for different groups brings to light deficiencies that must be overcome. For this, the following activities are planned:

  • Operational and functional test activities.
  • Corrective, adaptive and perfective maintenance activities.
  • Transfer or start-up.

In particular, all hospital-related researchers who are part of the INCT-MACC staff will have access to these systems. However, the aforementioned is not enough to ensure the use of these technological innovations in medicine by other sectors of public or private health and the country. To ensure the transfer to these sectors, the INCT-MACC will depend on the advice, collaboration and existing structures of the Heart Institute for this longstanding aim, as institutional headquarters of the INCT-MACC for the period 2015-2021, as well as with the support of the USP Innovation Agency.

Goals

  • By the end of 2021: deliver all proposed computer systems in Section 5.1.10.
  • By the end of 2021: register products and/or developed systems through the patent/software registration system of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI, http://www.inpi.gov.br)
  • By the end of 2021: transfer developed technologies to the productive sector, keeping copyright to researchers and institutions, with the support of the USP Innovation Agency.
