Continue and strengthen the Program to Disseminate and Transfer Knowledge and Developments

Since its creation in November 2008, the INCT-MACC has been careful to ensure the existence of a permanent channel capable of ensuring the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to society and developments generated by the INCT-MACC. In particular a program of dissemination and transfer was established, whose results can be viewed on the INCT-MACC website at http://macc.lncc.br/result2014.php. This specific objective aims to consolidate this program. Apart from making the developed computer systems and tutorials available on the INCT-MACC website, this site is the aforementioned webpage where educational videos and texts in simple, yet scientifically correct language can be found, as well as the most important results achieved in R&D activities related to those described in Section 5.1. The development of the site is undertaken by skilled personnel hired for this purpose (see Section 7.7) who, aided by researchers of the institute and their students, are responsible for preparing all these documents using appropriate multimedia tools. The ADAN-WEB system is an example of this. In fact a visitor who accesses this web address (http://hemolab.lncc.br/adan-web) can discover the location of 2,142 arteries of the human body described by anatomy books, and for each one of these arteries can know the behavior of pressure and velocity along the heartbeat and, even if you are a medical student, can find precise anatomical and morphological information about this arterial district. It seems worth noting here that this is the only repository in the world where this information is available. In this website, the visitor will find educational videos and texts on the themes of INCT-MACC. In addition, our Associate Laboratories periodically offer interviews to popular science divulgation channels in which the activities of research and development through a scientifically correct language are presented and made accessible to the population. Vehicles to distribute these notes are newspapers, local news, programs on local television channels, the corresponding divulgation magazines of the Financial Supporting State Agencies, among others (see http://macc.lncc.br/noticias.php?lang=1 to find out how news are replicated on the INCT-MACC).

Goals

• Each year and by the end of 2021: keep the dissemination of knowledge page updated on the INCT-MACC site.
• By the end of 2021: prepare 30 educational texts on the areas of expertise of the INCT- MACC.
• By the end of 2021: prepare 24 educational videos on the areas of expertise of the INCT- MACC.
• By the end of 2021: prepare 18 sets of scientific notes on the research areas INCT-MACC to be disclosed.
